Giving back: Club Phred virtual show will aid first responders; DART’s Stuff the Bus food drive returns

Local band Club Phred will perform a live “virtual” show Friday, June 19th at 7 p.m.  All proceeds to benefit Delaware First Responders.

The band will play together in the studio.

While the state’s supply of PPE is now in good shape, the need to replenish inventories will continue.

DART adds a Stuff the Bus food drive

DART, the state transit system,  announced a second “Stuff The Bus” Food Drive in support of the Food Bank of Delaware COVID-19 relief efforts. Shoprite and Safeway store sites will featured a parked bus for donations.

The food drive will be collecting non-perishable donations for Delawareans in need of food assistance. 

The drive is normally held during the holidays.

“Stuff The Bus” will be collecting food at five sites throughout the State. The drop off locations that will operate from 9 am. to 4 p.m. will take place at the following:

  • Monday, June 22: Safeway, 19283 Coastal Highway, Rehoboth.
  • Tuesday, June 23: Safeway, 190 John Hunn Brown Rd., Dover.
  • Wednesday, June 24: ShopRite of Four Seasons, 700 Plaza Dr., Newark 
  • Thursday, June 25: ShopRite of Brandywine Commons, 1300 Rocky Run Parkway, Wilmington 
  • Friday, June 26: ShopRite of First State Plaza, 1600 W. Newport Pike, Stanton.

DART also asked the public to donate directly to the Food Bank of Delaware, if they are unable to visit any of the “Stuff The Bus” collection sites. For more information on donating food, contact the Food Bank at 302-292-1305, or visit their website at www.FBD.org
