The Cecil County Health Department reported 487 residents have tested positive for coronavirus up 11 from June 24th.
A total of 351 of those confirmed cases have been released from isolation.
The county adjacent to northern Delaware reported are 37 deaths related to Covid-19, up from June 24. A large percentage of the deaths have been linked to long-term care facilities.
The death rate on a proportional basis is lower than the figure for the State of Delaware, which has reported 509 deaths. Cecil County has an estimted 102,000 residents while Delaware has a population of about 975,000
The total number of people tested in Cecil numbers about 5,500, according to figures from the state of Maryland. The rate of testing is about half the percentage reported for Delaware.
The Cecil Health Department cautioned that Covid-19 remains in the community spread phase and advises the use of face masks, social distancing and hand-washing.
