Delaware State Police arrested a Wilmington man in connection with the burglary of a business.The suspect was identified as Jamie C. Slaw, 32.
On June 7, at 12:40 a.m., troopers were dispatched to the Eastern Metal and Recycling at 4111 New Castle Ave, New Castle after an alarm sounded.
The trooper found a suspect had attempted to gain entry into the structure through a window after pushing an air conditioning window unit onto the concrete floor.
The trooper observed an individual in the area wearing a face mask and holding what appeared to be several five-gallon buckets that were stacked together. The individual dropped the buckets and proceeded to take off on foot.
The suspect, identified as Slaw, was taken into custody without further incident. He was found in possession of a set of bolt cutters, a hatchet, a hammer, needle nose pliers, a wrench, and several saw blades. The buckets that Slaw dropped belonged to the business.
Slaw was charged with:
- Wearing a Disguise During the Commission of a Felony
- Burglary Third Degree (Felony)
- Possession of Burglar Tools (Felony)
- Theft Under $1,500
- Resisting Arrest
- Criminal Mischief
Slaw was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and released on $5,100 unsecured bond.
