At the request of the Wilmington COVID-19 Community Mobilization Group, St. Francis Healthcare, in conjunction with the State Division of Public Health, will host and manage three health assessment and test sites over the next two weeks.
The announcement of the testing site was made by Wilmington Mayor Mike Purzycki and City Council President Hanifa Shabazz.
The locations, dates and times for the sites are:
- Monday, May 11 from Noon to 2 p.m. at the parking lot of Ezion Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church located at 800 North Walnut Street. This is a drive-through event.
- Tuesday, May 12 from Noon to 2 p.m. at the Frauline Trotter Park across the street from the William “Hicks” Anderson Community Center at 501 North Madison Street. This is a walk-up event.
- Wednesday, May 20 from noon to 2 p.m. at Judy Johnson Park located on North DuPont Street and West 3rd Street. This is a walk-up event.
The upcoming one-day sites are in addition to two other permanent COVID-19 health assessment and test sites at the Latin American Community Center’s MOB Building at 3rd and Harrison Streets on Mondays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and at the Kingswood Community Center at 2300 Bowers Street on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
In addition to health assessment and test sites, the C19CMG, a consortium of more than 20 community-based organizations, is working with the Mayor’s Office and City Council to purchase and distribute nearly 20,000 reusable face masks to Wilmington’s lower-income residents.
The group expects the masks to be available within the next week from locally sourced mask producers after which they will be distributed to residents. Mayor Purzycki and Council President Shabazz today thanked the member agencies.They include:

All New Castle County paramedics to be tested
New Castle County Executive Matthew Meyer and Nemours Children’s Health System’s Dr. Mary M. Lee, Enterprise Vice President and Nemours physician in chief for Delaware Valley Operations, announced a partnership that will allow members of New Castle County’s 130 person paramedics team to be tested for the COVID-19 virus.
Testing began on Wednesday with 39 members of the paramedics being tested. New Castle County anticipates more than 100 will volunteer for the testing program which continues through Friday.
