Man arrested for in connection with water tower shootings and cutting cable connections of elderly residents

A Wilmington-area man was arrested on charges of shooting at a water tower and cutting the TV-internet cables of elderly residents in the apartment complex where he resided.

On May 3rd, a second incident was reported with further damage to a  water tower located on Washington Avenue, in suburban Wilmington.

In both cases, the water tower was punctured by bullets.  During the investigation, a third shooting incident at the tower was reported.

The investigation guided detectives to list 29-year-old Richard Sitek as a suspect.

On Thursday, a search warrant was issued.  The search yielded multiple firearms were along with anabolic steroids, crystal methamphetamine, marijuana, and other drug paraphernalia.

The investigation also revealed that Sitek was also involved in cutting  Comcast cable/internet lines to elderly residents who lived in his apartment complex.

He was taken into custody and transported to New Castle County Police headquarters.

He was arraigned on multiple charges  by Justice of the Peace Court 11 and held in lieu of $75,000 secured bail.
