U.S. Chamber offering $5,000 grants for 3-20 employee businesses in ‘vulnerable’ zip codes

Business owners may be able to take advantage of a new assistance program from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation to help small businesses deal with the effects of the coronavirus pandemic.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation is offering the Save Small Business Programwhich provides $5,000 grants for businesses located in economically vulnerable communities with  between three and 20 employees. 

Businesses in much of the city of Wilmington as well as Newark, Dover, Milford, New Castle, Bear and  Newark are eligible.  Businesses in Rehoboth Beach, Middletown, Greenville, north Wilmington (19803)  and other higher-income zip codes don’t make the cut.

The application process is simple, requiring only a business’s W-9 form. The Chamber Foundation predicts it will take just 10 minutes to complete. The application form is available beginning today. More information and the link to apply can be found at: https://savesmallbusiness.com/

“This program seems like it’s a great fit for Wilmington and can give our local economy a much-needed boost during this very trying period for everyone,” said  Mayor Purzycki. “If you own a small business in the City, I urge you to take full advantage of this and any other program for which you may be eligible.”
