Outbreak of coronavirus cases reported at Cecil County nursing home


A Cecil County nursing home is the scene of a spike in coronavirus cases.

The Cecil Whig reported the nursing home was Calvert Manor in Rising Sun.

The Baltimore Sunreported that a strike force ordered by Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan was dispatched to Calvert Manor.

The strike force is comprised of medical professionals and National Guard members. ChristianaCare, which now operates Union Hospital in Elkton, is also involved, the Sun reported.

Maryland, like Delaware, has seen a large number of COVID-19 cases at more than 90 nursing homes. That led Hogan to form the strike force.

Cecil County, MD has reported 64confirmed cases of coronavirus, andonevirus-related death.
