The Delaware Hotel and Lodging Association Annual Stars of the Industry Awards Dinner was held last week at the Embassy Suites Newark Hotel
This event honors those lodging associates and properties, who best symbolize the quality and dedication to service of the industry. This is an opportunity for Delaware hotels to recognize employees who go the extra mile for their guests, their properties, and their communities.
Chairman of the Board Bill Silva, presented the awards to:
- Front of House Employee of the Year – Erik Fields- Dover Downs Hotel and Casino, Bell Captain and Concierge
- Housekeeper of the Year – Sherry Murray- Doubletree Wilmington, Housekeeper
- Heart of House Employee of the Year – Jennifer Laine- Springhill Suites Newark, Laundry Attendant
- Manager of the Year – Donielle Haughton- Holiday Inn Express Newark, Director of Sales and Operations
- Hotelier of the Year – Tyrone Grant, Embassy Suites Newark, General Manager
- Tourism Development Partner of the Year – Buccini Pollin Group – Robert Buccini and David Pollin, Founders
- Allied Partner of the Year – Greater Wilmington Convention and Visitors Bureau- Executive Director Sarah Willoughby
