A Sunday afternoon fire resulted in $300,000 damage to a church in the Minquadale area north of New Castle.
The Delaware Office of the State Fire Marshal stated that the blaze was reported after 4 p.m. at the Coleman Memorial United Methodist Church in the 400 block of Anderson Drive.
The Minquadale Fire Company arrived on the scene with smoke coming from the building. Several fire companies also responded.
State fire investigators were called to the scene and are currently searching for the fire’s cause. The church was occupied by a few parishioners prior to the discovery of the fire. Everyone was able to escape without injury.
