The Delaware Farm Bureau is forming a hemp growers group for industrial hemp growers.
Late last month the United States Department of Agriculture made Delaware the second state on the East Coast to receive an OK for industrial hemp production.
This comes after the launch of a state domestic hemp research program operated by Delaware State University.
Hemp is related to marijuana and was banned for many years.
Industrial hemp can be used for rope, fiber, paper and building materials.
Hemp products manufactured for human and animal consumption will remain under the authority of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
