Poets&Quants For Undergrads has ranked the University of Delaware’s Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics 51st in its 2020 ranking of the best undergraduate business programs in the United States.
Lerner rose by 10 spots this year, improving in its standing for admission standards and academic experience. Poets&Quants is a website focused specifically on business schools, and offers a yearly ranking of various business school programs.
Ninety-seven AACSB Accredited business schools, selected for being in the top echelon of the nearly 700 undergraduate business programs accredited by the AACSB, were included in this year’s ranking.
“We are pleased to see that the Lerner College continues to perform well and move upward in the Poets&Quants rankings,” said Lerner College Dean Bruce Weber. “This ranking is unique in that it uses alumni feedback, as well as admissions and career outcomes data, in order to create the results. At Lerner, we excel in preparing students for success and we focus on these areas to ensure that our students have a positive learning experience and are ready to take on life after college.”
In the Poets&Quants For Undergrads 2020 ranking, the Lerner College received “A’s”on a scale of “A through F” from its alumni for wanting to recommend Lerner to a close friend or colleague and for having business school faculty available for informal discussions about grades, class topics and expectations outside of class. A review of the three years of Poets&Quants rankings shows that Lerner College has continued to grow and improve its undergraduate business program and therefore rise in the rankings.
Poets&Quants equally weighs admission standards, the full academic experience, and employment outcomes from data that is specific to each business program. Unlike other organizations that rank business schools, Poets&Quants focuses on three core issues for their rankings: “the quality of the raw talent coming through the door, what a school does with that talent over four years and finally, how the marketplace responds to the graduates coming off campus.”
UD’s Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness (IRE) has included Poets&Quants in its list of UD Primary Rankings.
