WSFS will not reopen its Hockessin office after a fire in December. No one one was hurt in the Dec. 8 fire that broke out after the bank was closed.
“Given the substantial damage, it would take about nine to twelve months to repair the site,” stated WSFS spokesperson, Rebecca Acevado. “We made the difficult decision to permanently close the bank office. Many of our associates have moved to the Lantana banking office, and the others are serving customers at nearby WSFS offices.”
Acevado noted that the WSFS Lantana office is less than two miles from the Hockessin branch.
WSFS will continue to offer Saturday hours and will make improvements to the site including an expansion of the drive-thru and parking lot.
According to Acevado, there are 90 WSFS banking offices, including 19 in New Castle County, as well as 500 ATMs and mobile banking services.
WSFS has other offices in driving distance of Hockessin at Midway Plaza off Limestone Road and Kirkwood Highway, Greenville and off Limestone Road in Pike Creek.
