DelDOT announced weekend roadwork will close lanes and nearby exits on the Interstate 95 Brandywine River bridge.
The work in Wilmington will begin at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14, ending at 5 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 16.
Traffic will be limited to a single lane for traffic in each direction.
During this time, the I-95 northbound on-ramp from North Adams Street will be closed and the I-95 southbound exit at Delaware Avenue will also be closed.
The closures are necessary to allow for the repair of the road in the center lane both northbound and southbound, DelDOT reported. (See photo above).
The entire concrete surface of the bridge deck will be replaced during the upcoming I-95 Corridor Rehabilitation Project, which gets underway in March 2021.
The project will deal with half-century-old viaducts and bridges on a section of I-95 that runs through Wilmington.
