Bob Barrar, head brewer, 2SP Brewing Co., and Michael McLaughlin, Wawa’s coffee guru teamed up last year to roll out a  coffee-flavored brew, which sold out quickly.

2SP is based in Delaware County, PA, which is also the headquarters for Wawa. A number of Wawa stores are able to carry the beer under Pennsylvania’s loosened laws. Delaware still bars grocery and convenience stores from selling beer.

Also coming is a bourbon barrel finished version of the beer, as well as partnerships with Hardywood Park Craft Brewery in Richmond, VA and Coppertail Brewing Company in Tampa, FL.

2SP is part of a six-location craft beer-focused restaurant group that is based near Newark. A new restaurant and headquarters are nearing its opening off  I-95 and Route 273 south of Newark.

The restaurants will feature the beer from the Wawa venture.

Also, on tap for 2019 is an expansion including a bourbon barrel finished version of the beer, as well as two freshly brewed partnerships with Hardywood Park Craft Brewery in Richmond, VA, and Coppertail Brewing Company in Tampa, FL.

The beer will launch with a multi-state “Brew Tour” that kicked off last week in Chadds Ford, PA., and will end  on Feb. 20,, 2020 in Tampa, FL.
