Althouse

The Bancorp, Inc., north Wilmington,  announced the addition of two new officers. Joining are Michael Althouse, and Keith D. Owes.

Althouse serves as Managing Director, Chief Compliance Officer (CCO), and is responsible for ensuring effective implementation of the bank’s Compliance Management System. He brings a track record of compliance experience spanning nearly 20 years. Most recently, he held the role of Deputy Chief Compliance Officer and Head of Compliance Advisory at Barclays US Consumer Bank in Wilmington. Prior positions include various compliance leadership roles at PayPal, Capital One, and First Capital Bank.

Owes

Owes joins The Bancorp as Managing Director, Chief Risk Officer (CRO) responsible for Enterprise Risk Management, Third-Party Risk Management, Cyber Security, and Regulatory Affairs functions. He brings experience in risk and business control, most recently serving as Risk & Business Control Executive within Global Technology and Operations at Bank of America. Owes also spent time in various wealth management, risk, and governance leadership roles at Merrill Lynch.

Belfint, Lyons & Shuman, P.A. adds CPA

Belfint, Lyons & Shuman, P.A. welcomed Bryce L. Schelhaas, CPA as a supervisor in the firm’s Tax & Small Business Department.

Schelhaas

Prior to relocating to Delaware and joining BLS, Schelhaas worked for a public accounting firm in Sioux Falls, SD. He is currently a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the South Dakota CPA Society. Schelhaas earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting from Dordt University in Iowa.  

Easterseals adds board members

Easterseals Delaware & Maryland’s Eastern Shore welcomed Penny Saridakis, of Greenville; Joan Sharp, of Wilmington; and Mike Tretina, of Magnolia to its Board of Directors.

Saridakis serves on the Board of Directors at Christiana Health Care System; Chair of Trustees, Co-Chair of the Young Friends of Christiana Care, and member of the Community Engagement Advisory Council and the Nominating Committee; Board of Directors of Leadership Delaware; and Board of Trustees of Ursuline Academy.

Sharp founded River Family Advisors, LLC, where she currently works. She received the 2012 Governor of Delaware’s Outstanding Volunteer Award. She was published twice on Forbes.com, “Put the Client First”, and “Gifting to Kids”. Sharp holds a Master of Science in Financial Services from The American College, and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Southern Methodist University.

Tretina is the Senior Vice President and CFO at Bayhealth Medical Center in Dover  Prior to this position he was the Vice President and CFO at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames Iowa.

Bickel

SoDel Concepts names general manager

David Bickel was named general manager of The Clubhouse at Baywood in Millsboro, Delaware, one of the hospitality company’s 12 restaurants.

Bickel is a graduate of the University of Delaware, where he studied economic and computer science while working in the school’s catering and food-delivery departments.

 Wilmington Trust names investment leader

Wilmington Trust announced it has promoted Lauren Mance to the newly created position of Investment Leader for its Institutional Client Services (ICS) business. In this role, Mance will set and lead the investment strategy for the firm’s Global Capital Markets (GCM) and Retirement and Institutional Custody Services (RICS) segments. She will report to F. Jim Della Sala, Head of Strategy and Product Development.

A Chartered Financial Analyst charter holder with an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College, Mance brings more than a decade of experience in institutional investing to an ICS team that numbers more than 1,000 employees. She joined Wilmington Trust in 2018 as Vice President, Business Planning & Analytics, and Product Owner of the Wealth Management advisor experience.
