Georgetown Police have arrested two men during the early morning hours after they were observed damaging and removing money from town parking meters.
On Monday at about 1:53 a.m., Georgetown Police were patrolling the area of East Market St. and the Circle. Georgetown Police had recently investigated numerous thefts from parking meters in the area of East Market St.
While patrolling the area, officers saw a male wearing dark clothing. The man fled on foot and was quickly apprehended in the area of South Race St. Georgetown Police located a second individual near the area in a private parking lot.
Georgetown Police were able to review surveillance footage from the area and confirmed the two men had damaged and remove currency from town parking meters.
Chad Wilson 34, of Georgetown, was arrested for felony criminal mischief, Conspiracy, two counts of Theft under $1,000 and one count of criminal mischief under $1,000. Wilson was taken to Sussex Correctional Institution.
Christopher Marshall 42, of Millsboro was arrested for Resisting arrest, felony criminal mischief, Conspiracy, two counts of theft under $1000 and one count of criminal mischief under $1000. Marshall was taken to Sussex Correctional Institution.
