A popular newsletter-website has a new name.

Pivot Today is now known as Delco Today. As the new name indicates, the site focuses on Delaware County, PA.

Thanks to growing national attention  NBC show Saturday Night Live and the national media’s focus on the county’s changing political landscape, Delco has become a more familiar term outside the county.

The outer edge of the county includes the Chadds Ford and Boothwyn areas  near the Delaware line.

Pivot Today aggregates business and community content from area media outlets into brief summaries followed by a link to the story.

It does not offer editorial opinions or significant staff-written coverage. Support comes from corporate sponsors.

The site and newsletter is owned by American Community Journals, which has similar newsletters and sites in Chester County and Montgomery County, PA.

Owens joins Business Times

Jacob Owens has joined Delaware Business Times as associate editor.

Owens is the former editor of the twice weekly Cecil Whig newspaper and Cecil Daily website.

Owens guided the editorial side of the  Whig through a difficult period that saw the paper’s five-day paper’s production schedule shrink to two days.  He also wrote some of the more complex government and business stories in a county with a changing economy.

Parent company APG has gone through a shakeup as the company expanded to 100 papers around the country. Former regional executive David Fike left the company earlier.

The Business Times publishes every other week and has specialty pubs that include a Book of Lists and a daily newsletter.

Loudell returns to WDEL airwaves

Back for the busy political season is WDEL’s Allan Loudell.

Loudell was sidelined for a time by heart surgery.

The long-time radio veteran of WDEL and WILM is known for his interviews with  state, national and even international journalists and other experts.
