The  Hertrich  Family of Auto Dealerships has added Dover’s Chevrolet dealership and collision center, the company announced on a social media post.

The Delaware-based dealer purchased Chevrolet of Dover from Matt Kersey, who purchased sole ownership in October of 2018 from Wilmington-based Auto Team Delaware, according to Michael Uffner of  Auto Team.

The annual listing  from  Automotive News  ranks Hertrich as the 106th largest dealership group in the nation, with $825 million in annual revenue.

Consolidation continues to take place in the industry as one-dealer owners become rarer.

The Kent County dealership is now known as Hertrich Chevrolet of Dover and Hertrich Collision Center of Dover.

The acquisition of Chevrolet of Dover gives Hertrich its  21st dealership and fifth collision center, as well as its fifth Chevrolet dealership.

The dealership dates back to 1930 and operated under the name Townsend Brothers Chevrolet prior to the purchase by Auto Team.

Hertrich Chevrolet of Dover is located next to Hertrich Nissan on Du Pont Highway.

Hertrich has dealerships through Delmarva and northern Delaware as well as one location each in  New Jersey and Colorado.

This year, the family owned company opened a collision center in Bear and a few years earlier opened a Chrysler-Jeep-Ram dealership in Elkton, MD.
