Electric shock that came after dump truck struck power line claims life of driver


An Easton, MD man died after a powerline fell on his dump truck in Laurel.

Delaware State Police were dispatched to the 31000 block of Jestice Farm Road on Friday afternoon for the report of an industrial accident.

It was determined that a dump truck had struck a power line while unloading its cargo. The power line caught fire and fell to the ground. The driver then exited and went to the back of his truck. Upon touching the truck, he received a fatal shock.

The victim was identified as 30-year-old Bryan Dukes of Easton. He was taken to Nanticoke Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
