Up for sale are two former INGDirect, Capital One buildings near the Biden Wilmington Train Station.

One South Orange is the former Pennsylvania Railroad building, designed by Frank Furness, who also served as architect for the landmark train station.

The building was constructed in 1885 and renovated in 2001.

The other building is One South Market, a 3,800-square-foot structure a short walk away from One South Orange.

The buildings are adjacent to the train station, which is one of the busiest stops on Amtrak. The station also has regional commuter rail service from SEPTA.

Both buildings were extensively renovated by INGDirect in the early 2000s.  INGDirect was sold to Capital One as part of a bailout by the Dutch government for owner and insurance company ING. ING struggled during the financial crisis, although INGDirect remained profitable by operating an online-based bank.

CapitalOne has consolidated operations in downtown Wilmington and also exited leased space.

Moving into the office leasing vacancy category is the former Bank of America/MBNA complex that accounts for about half a million square feet of space. The complex was sold to an investor.

CBRE was named agent for the Capital One properties.
