Fire causes $100,000 in damage to Leipsic diesel repair business


A  fire heavily damaged a heavily damaged a Leipsic repair  business

The blaze in Kent County was reported shortly before 8 p.m. at 168 Denny Street, the home of Carey’s Diesel. 

The Leipsic Volunteer Fire Company arrived fought the blaze inside the industrial building.  A passing motorist discovered the fire.

The fire began in a piece of operating machinery inside the shop and spread through the roof. The fire was ruled accidental by the state Fire Marshal’s office.

Fire damage was estimated at $100,000.  There were no injuries.
