Walmart is suing Tesla over claims that faulty installation and maintenance of its solar panels led to fires.
However, there were indications that the two companies will make a stab at resolving the legal battle.
The suit was filed in the State of New York and claims that faulty work was responsible for several fires on more than 240 solar panel installations at stores of the retail giant.
The solar arrays have since been shut down or de-energized. However, Reuters reported the two companies indicated they want to work toward getting the systems running again.
Both Tesla and Walmart are incorporated in Delaware but agreed to the New York State court venue.

According to the suit, Tesla was responsible for all phases of the installation and maintenance of solar panels installed on store roofs.
One of the fires cited came at a Walmart in Denton on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. The fire damaged the roof and could have been far worse, Walmart alleged.
The suit noted that Tesla’s solar operation has seen corporate changes that include the controversial takeover of Solar City by Tesla. Tesla founder Elon Musk was a founder of Solar City as well as the electric vehicle company.
