 Scott Kammerer, president of SoDel Concepts, Rehoboth Beach, announced that Stevie Wishner is the new general manager at Papa Grande’s Coastal Taqueria in Fenwick Island.

In  2017, shortly after graduation, Wishner began working with SoDel Concepts as a server. That same year, she became a manager at Papa Grande’s in Fenwick.

Wishner graduated with a degree in resort and hospitality management from Florida Gulf Coast University.

Beldona to chair UD Department of Hospitality Business Management

Sri Beldona has been named  the next chair of the Department of Hospitality Business Management at the Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics

Beldona is a professor and the graduate director in the Department of Hospitality Business Management.

He earned his Ph.D. from Purdue University and an MBA from the University of Newcastle, Australia. His focus of research is in consumer psychology as it relates to hospitality-based experiences and digital marketing in hospitality and travel. 

Rehoboth Main St. names executive director

The Rehoboth Beach Main Street, Inc. Board of Directors   announced that Dan Slagle has been named Executive Director of Rehoboth Beach Main Street, Inc.

Slagle has more than 30 years’ small business experience, He will collaborate with Rehoboth Beach business owners, merchants, residents and community leaders to promote downtown Rehoboth Beach as a place to visit, shop, dine and invest.

Judge Sleet joins Delaware Community Foundation board

The Delaware Community Foundation welcomed Judge Gregory M. Sleet as a new member of its Board of Directors, filling a newly vacant seat.

The first African American to be appointed U.S. Attorney for the District of Delaware, Sleet served first as judge, chief judge, and later senior judge of the United States District Court for the District of Delaware. He served in  District Court for over 20  years before retiring in the fall of 2018.

  Sleet has a wide range of law experience, including civil and criminal litigation and corporate law. He also served as an adjunct professor teaching patent litigation at Rutgers Law School, Widener University Delaware Law School and Duke University School of Law. 

Wohlsen Construction names learning director

Wohlsen Construction Company welcomed  Lisa Murray, Director of Learning and Development to the team. She will have the opportunity to significantly influence Wohlsen’s culture through instruction on leadership development and courses covering interpersonal skills that are essential to creating engaged teams and effective leaders.

Her career started in education after graduating from Cabrini College with a Bachelor of Science in Special and Elementary Education.

Mettee elected president of boards of registration

Karins and Associates announced that John V. Mettee III was elected president of the Colonial States Boards of Registration (CSBOR) for a two-year term

Mettee is a Professional Land Surveyor and the Director of the Maryland Division for Karins and Associates. 

CSBOR is a subgroup of the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying and is comprised of members of the Board of Registration from 18 eastern states and the District of Columbia.  It provides a forum for surveyor members of NCEES to discuss their local state survey issues, industry trends, current topics being considered at NCEES and their effects on surveying professionals and licensure.
