Faw Casson’s Houck to serve as regional director for  accounting oversight group

Alison L. Houck,  CPA was nominated and elected to serve as the next Middle Atlantic Regional Director for the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy’s (NASBA) Board of Directors by the NASBA Nominating Committee in Salt Lake City.

  In 2015 she was appointed by Governor Jack Markell for a three-year term as a member of the State Board of Accountancy, serving one year as President.  She was recently reappointed for an additional three-year term.  She is also active in many local organizations, previously serving in Executive Committee positions with the Delaware Society of CPAs, and served three years as Delaware’s designated member of the AICPA National Council.

  NASBA has served as a forum for the nation’s State Boards of Accountancy since 1908.  They oversee the testing and licensing for all CPA examinations and are charged with regulating the practice of public accounting in the United States.

 Wells Fargo & Co. promotes Rowe to executive slot

Wells Fargo & Co. named former Bank of America and MBNA executive Andy Rowe Enterprise Customer Excellence executive.

Rowe has led Customer Segments and the Consumer Strategy at Wells Fargo for two years. As executive of the new Enterprise Customer Excellence team, he is responsible for leading and integrating the Consumer Strategy, the Customer Remediation Center of Excellence, the Enterprise Complaints Management Office, Conduct Management, and an enterprise customer experience system in partnership with the lines of business.

Rowe holds a B.S. degree in finance from the University of Delaware. He is based in Charlotte.

 NCCO Chamber adds directors

New Castle County Chamber of Commerce welcomed Yvonne Deadwyler to the Chamber. She will serve as Director of Member Relations, a newly created position within the organization.  She will be focused on understanding the needs of our members and ensuring that those needs are reflected in all  programming and activities. 

Also welcomed was Bob Beichner. He will serve as Director of Economic Development and Business Incubation, managing both the Chamber’s Economic Development Council and its business incubator, the Emerging Enterprise Center.  

Lee joins Bayhealth Radiation Oncology

Bayhealth Radiation Oncology Associates,  Dover, welcomed a new radiation oncologist, Tony T. Lee, MD. 

Lee brings more than two decades of radiation oncology experience to Bayhealth. He has extensive experience in managing all cancer types but specifically focuses on prostate, breast, gastrointestinal, and head and neck malignancies. Lee earned an undergraduate degree from University of Pennsylvania. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Temple University School of Medicine. 

Fresh Start Scholarship Foundation announces board members

The Fresh Start Scholarship Foundation, a statewide Delaware 501(c)(3) nonprofit, welcomed new board members at the July 1 start of the fiscal year. MicheleWhetzel  was elected Board President. Kelsey Callaghan, Valerie Middlebrooks, Kimberly Reid, and Betty Sweeny  joined as new board members.

 Whetzel, president, is the President of Revise, LLC.  She has a BS degree in Finance from the University of Delaware.

Kelsey, Assistant Treasurer, is a CPA at Albero, Kupferman & Associates. She is a graduate of Gabelli School of Business at Fordham University and also earned a Master of Science in Professional Taxation from Fordham University.

Middlebrooks, treasurer, is a CAP and Principal with Belfint, Lyons & Shuman, P. A. Her business degree is from the University of Wisconsin.

Reid, vice president  of Marketing & Communications, originally joined the Fresh Start in 2018 as a member of the Advisory Board. She has a BA in English from the University of Delaware and an MS in Organizational Leadership from Quinnipiac University.

Sweeny, secretary, is CEO of Business Development Associates, Inc. Her BS degree in Consumer Economics is from the University of Delaware.

The Board recently honored Sarah Kenney-Cruz  for her leadership as President for the past two years. She has served on the Fresh Start board for five years and will continue as an ex-officio member as Immediate Past President.

SVN Miller Commercial Real Estate 

SVN Miller Commercial Real Estate announced new advisor Brad Hopkins. Before joining SVN-Miller Hopkins was the President of Rommel Harley-Davidson for 14 years. He was also the CFO for a large bi-state authority.

Delaware Farm Bureau adds Voshell

Delaware Farm Bureau welcomed Kali Voshell to the state staff as Program and Foundation Coordinator. She will manage the Delaware Farm Bureau Foundation, serve as National Ag in the Classroom contact and as Young Farmers and Ranchers staff coordinator.

Sussex Montessori School

A teacher and Department Head from The Tatnall School will serve as the first Head of School for the new Sussex Montessori School, starting August 1.

Lisa Coldiron also served as Sussex County Director of the acclaimed Read Aloud Delaware program for four years after serving at Tatnall from 1996-2014.

Coldiron received her degree in Early Childhood Education, with a minor in music, from Elizabethtown College in 1981 and later took advanced coursework at the University of Delaware.
