 The Board of Directors of Del-One Federal Credit Union announced the appointment of Ron Baron as President and Chief Executive Officer of Del-One Federal Credit Union.  Baron had been serving as Interim President/ CEO since April and had previously served as the Chief Financial Officer of Del-One since June of 2018.  

Christiana Care announces promotions

Terri Corbo  has been appointed vice president, Laboratory and Pharmacy Services. She will oversee the operations of both departments.

Heather Farley has been appointed Christiana Care’s first chief wellness officer. In this role, she will oversee the organizational strategy to advance the professional fulfillment and wellbeing of Christiana Care’s caregivers. She leads advocacy programs and initiatives aimed at improving the caregiver experience and fostering an organizational culture of wellbeing. She also continues to oversee Christiana Care’s Center for Provider Wellbeing. Farley developed Christiana Care’s Care for the Caregiver program, one of the nation’s earliest and largest peer support programs for health care providers.

Francis A. Gott III  has been appointed vice president, Specialty Practices, Christiana Care Medical Group Operations. In this role, Gott will continue to serve as a senior leader in The Medical Group team with a focus on standardizing operations at all specialty practices. 

Bradley Sandella, D.O. has been appointed leader of the Musculoskeletal Service Line, overseeing the strategic direction and clinical activities of the service line. He will lead an expansion of sports medicine with a focus on population health to enhance musculoskeletal care in the community.

Cydney T. Teal, M.D., has been appointed leader of the Primary Care & Community Medicine Service Line and chair of Family and Community Medicine. In this role, Teal will lead the development of innovative and effective models of care delivery, focused on increasing access to primary care, advancing health equity and promoting readiness for value-based care.

Sallie Mae exec appointed to Plans Management Board

Donna Vieira, executive vice president and chief marketing officer at Sallie Mae, has been appointed to the Plans Management Board (PMB) by Delaware Governor John Carney. Vieira will serve a two-year term as an at-large member, expiring in May 2021.

PMB was created in 2016 and is an 11-member board and fiduciary for the state’s voluntary savings plans, namely the 529 Educational Savings Plan, which helps families pay for education expenses, 529A ABLE Savings Plan for individuals with disabilities, and the Deferred Compensation Program, which offers three retirement savings plan for state employees.

The Delaware State Police major promoted

The Delaware State Police Superintendent, Colonel Nathaniel McQueen Jr., announced the promotion of Major Melissa A. Zebley to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.

Zebley was appointed as a trooper in July of 1992. Upon completion of her academy training, she was assigned to Troop 6, Prices Corner. In September 1997 she was transferred to the academy as a Drill Instructor.

She served that function until December 2001.  In April 2002 Zebley was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and was assigned to Troop 1, Penny Hill.  She served as a patrol supervisor until October 2005 when she was transferred to the Public Information Office and later assumed the role of Director. In February 2007 she was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and assigned to headquarters as the Fiscal Officer for the Division.

 In April 2009 she was transferred to Troop 2 near Glasgow where she was in charge of patrol operations for the troop. In August 2009 Zebley was promoted to Captain and was transferred to Troop 1 as the Commander. In September 2010, she was promoted to Major and served on the Executive Staff as the Administrative Officer and the New Castle County Operations Officer.

In 1991, Zebley graduated from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Science Degree. She also graduated from the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command in 2000. She continued her education and earned a Master of Science Degree in 2003 from Wilmington University.

Zebley is a 2008 graduate of the 235th  Session of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.) National Academy. In addition, she has been a Wilmington University adjunct instructor and a program assistant for the Criminal Justice Program. She has organized the annual Women in Criminal Justice Leadership Conference since its inception in 2005.

Delaware Contemporary announces director, staff additions

The Board of Directors announced Leslie Shaffer as The Delaware Contemporary’s Executive Director and other staff additions to the arts center in Wilmington.

  • Tatiana Michels has been named Director of External Affairs.
  • Courtney Widdoes has been named Director of Development.
  • Roderick Hidalgo has been named Collector Liaison.
  • Brittany Powell has benn named Director of Public Engagement

Greater Wilmington Convention & Visitors Bureau adds researcher

Lali Odosashvili, a Fulbright Foreign Student Program grantee from the Republic of  Georgia, will work on marketing research and analytics at the Greater Wilmington Convention & Visitors Bureau for the next year. 

She will work gathering research from New Castle County hotels that will help guide the GWCVB’s marketing strategy for 2021 and beyond.  In addition, she will work with area attractions conducting on-site visitor research.  Lali graduated from the University of Delaware, Master of Hospitality Business Management program. 

Lyons Companies adds staffers

Lyons Companies, Wilmington,  announced the addition of three new employees to its team of risk management and insurance professionals.

Expanding the Commercial Insurance division, Lyons Companies welcomed Wendy S. Pierce as a Senior Account Manager. She has earned two insurance designations—Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) and Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC)—and has licenses in Property & Casualty and Life, Accident & Health.

Erin Widmaier also joined the Commercial Insurance division as an Account Manager. Prior to joining Lyons, she spent six years with an industry leader in the field of fuel  and energy-related insurance. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Wilmington College.

Lyons’ newest Quality Assurance Analyst is Caroline Martin. She recently graduated from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Science in Operations Management and a minor in Management Information Systems.
