JPMorgan Chase is behind on its plans for four more northern Delaware branches by the end of the year.
JPMorgan Chase, the state’s largest for-profit employer plans to open 10 to 12 Delaware branches in the next five years and add three additional ATM machines.
One branch is located in downtown Wilmington, with another in north Wilmington and a third in Christiana. An employee branch at the company’s Stanton-Christiana site will also open.
The first branch for employees opened at the company’s offices on Walnut Street in Wilmington. Chase is also opening branches in Philadelphia and other areas of the Delaware Valley.
The new branches will include modern design elements and an open collaborative space with movable furniture to hold educational programming such as Chase Chats, a new series of small group sessions focused on a variety of topics such as, the best practices to save for college or what to know when you’re ready to buy a home.
Below are locations and opening dates. As of Jan. 7, the Fashion Center and Market Street branches had not opened.

Both JPMorgan Chase and rival Bank of America are opening branches in Delaware at a time when the number of branch offices has remained steady or declined. WSFS plans to close a couple of branches in Delaware in coming years.
Meanwhile M&T bank announced upgrades at its Delaware branches that reflect the latest trends in banking.
