Several companies with sizeable operations in Delaware were listed in the 2019 Disability Equality IndexBest Places to Work listing.
The American Association of People with Disabilities and Disability:IN recognized the following companies that scored an 90 or above on the 2019 DEI. The index questionnaire was completed by 180 companies in 2019.
Delaware companies with a 90 or above score were:
3M, Aramark, Capital One Financial Corporation, DuPont, JPMorgan Chase & Co. M&T Bank, Highmark Health, MetLife Inc., Verizon, Walgreens and Walmart.
Scores were issued on a scale from 0 to 100.
The benchmarking tool was developed in consultation with the appointed DEI Advisory Committee, a diverse and voluntary group of experts in disability advocacy, business, and policy.
Participating companies in the 2019 DEI represent a total U.S. workforce of 8,693,591. The announcement of top-scoring companies come on the heels of a joint statement from 17 investors, representing $2.1 trillion, who have called on companies to be inclusive to people with disabilities.
