Two people were arrested on felony assault and weapons charges stemming from a dispute  that took place in the parking lot of a used book, CD and gaming gear store.

On Saturday morning troopers were called to the parking lot of 2nd & Charles at 101 Geoffrey Drive in Stanton-Christiana.

Troopers were told that a man with  a  handgun was in the bathroom of the nearby Dunkin’.

Troopers entered the business and found Charles Dangel Jr., 49, of Bear, who was taken into custody without incident. Dangel was found with a  loaded, Ruger SR22 handgun concealed in a holster on his waistband. Troopers determined that Dangel did not have a permit to carry a concealed firearm.

After taking Dangel into custody, troopers located a woman involved in the incident, 30-year-old Nialeva S. Titus, of Wilmington. She was reportedly found with pepper spray, which was used during the dispute.

The investigation determined that Dangel and Titus, who were strangers, got into a dispute in the parking lot. The dispute  escalated when Titus sprayed Dangel with pepper spray. That allegedly  resulted in Dangel producing the handgun, which he pointed at Titus. No rounds were fired.

Dangel was charged with one count each of Possession of a Deadly Weapon during the Commission of a Felony, Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon, Aggravated Menacing and Disorderly Conduct. He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court and taken to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution after lacking  $48,000 in secured bail.

Titus was charged with Assault 2nd Degree and Disorderly Conduct. She was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court and released after posting $5,000 cash bail.
