Trending: Two Delmarva Power contractors shot while working on gas lines

Wilmington Police are investigating a shooting that seriously injured two Delmarva Power contract workers, one critically, at around  1:30 p.m. 

 Police found two male gunshot victims, who were both transported to a hospital for treatment. One of the victims, a 48-year-old male, is listed in stable condition. The second victim, a 31-year-old male, is listed in critical condition.

Delmarva Power issued the following; 

“Earlier today, a shooting occurred injuring two contractors working on a gas main modernization project in Wilmington, Del. Our contractors were installing a new gas main and service lines to homes and businesses near 1807 W 2nd St. in Wilmington when the event occurred. Both contractors have been transported to the hospital and local authorities are investigating the incident. We work closely with our contractors every day on projects across our service area and this event impacts all of us at Delmarva Power. Our focus is now on our contractors, their families and coworkers, and our Delmarva Power employees.”
