The ribbon was cut late last month for the Tru by Hilton hotel in Georgetown.
The 90-room hotel was developed by the Onix Group, based in Kennett Square, PA. Onix developed the business park location for the hotel and has developed lodging properties around the region.
Tru is part of an effort by Hilton to reach younger budget-minded travelers, a segment that La Quinta and other brands have targeted. Hilton now has more than four dozen Tru Hotels in the U.S.
The Georgetown property includes a pool, work space, gaming zone, accessible features for people with disabilities and a complimentary breakfast. The decor is aimed at appealing to younger travelers and families.
The breakfast feature has been a cornerstone of Hilton’s Hampton Inn brand, which comes with a higher price point than Tru in many markets.
Summer mid-week rates run about $150 a night at the Georgetown, Tru.
The Georgetown area is growing rapidly as more people move into areas of Sussex County that are away from the beach.
