A Canadian company is beginning to roll out its bright green color scheme at a refuse company acquired last year.

In November, GFL Environmental acquired Waste Industries in a $2.85 million.

Waste Industries operates commercial and residential services in Delaware. It entered the market several years ago with the purchase of Delaware-based Independent Disposal. Waste Industries operates from locations in Townsend and Millsboro.

GFL  is now phasing in new lime green recycling and refuse containers. A  truck that drops off new residential containers also carries the distinctive color scheme.

The phase-in appears to be gradual, with the Waste Industries  website and customer service link still in operation.

In addition to Delaware, Waste Industries has non-hazardous solid waste collection, transfer, recycling, and disposal services, with operations in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Colorado, Tennessee, Virginia, Maryland, and  Pennsylvania.

With the addition of Waste Industries,  GFL now has  more than 9,000 employees and provides a range of services to more than 135,000 commercial and industrial customers and its solid waste collection services to more than four million households.
