Milton-based Dogfish Head is expanding its ‘Wooden … it be nice!’ wild beer program to include limited, regional distribution of a selection of its wild ales.
The first brew to hit shelves throughout Delaware and Maryland is ‘In & Of Itself.’
Brewed as a rustic Farmhouse base, ‘In & Of Itself’ is aged in red and white wine barrels for nine months. The ruby red-colored beer was finished with Etrog, Buddha’s hand and more than two pounds of raspberries per gallon. The brew, which comes witharomas of raspberry pie, has tart, sweet and sour flavors of raspberry, as well as notes of bright citrus and a champagne-like finish,” Dogfish Head reported
Alcohol content is 7.4 percent In & Of Itself is and-bottled – cork and cage style – and hand-painted with a special stripe. The brewery’s Fish Finder lists selling locations.
