Target adds paid parental leave, adoption reimbursement, back-up care for hourly staffers

Target is enhancing benefits offered to its hourly workforce—including part-time team members—and salaried team members at our stores, distribution centers and U.S. headquarters. 

Target has stores in north Wilmington, Christiana and Dover.

 “We’ve taken a strong position on minimum starting wages, but that’s just one facet of our team member experience,” says Melissa Kremer, chief human resources  officer. “Our team finds so much support here to grow their skills and careers, make a difference in their communities, and take care of themselves and their families—including benefits that we’re enhancing to be more relevant across a breadth of life stages.”

Benefit enhancements  include:

Back-up care to hourly and salaried team members at all stores and distribution centers The program will include 20 days total of in-center childcare or in-home child- and eldercare.

Paid family leave for full-time and part-time employees.

Doubling adoption and surrogacy reimbursement

Target, like other retail employers, is struggling to find staff members  in a stronger economy.

The average annual pay forTarget team. members is $24,200 a year, but has been trending upward as the job market tightens.
