Companies are on track to create about 330 new jobs in Delaware after the Council on Development Finance at its recent meetings recommended approval of multiple grants from the Delaware Strategic Fund.
In April CDF recommended approving a $1.2 million Strategic Fund grant to Nationwide Healthcare Services, LLC, which is developing a healthcare complex on the former Milford Memorial Hospital site. The project will create 192 jobs over three years.
That follows the Council’s decision at its February meeting to recommend a $660,400 grant to Wilmington PharmaTech LLC. The company is building a new manufacturing and research and development facility in Newark and will hire an additional 139 employees.
Also in April CDF also recommended approval of a $50,000 Delaware Technical Innovation grant to Newark-based SAS Nanotechnologies. The Division worked with the company on its grant application and made a presentation about at the April meeting.
The company, which has developed an additive that keeps automotive paint and other coatings from corroding, was recently named one of the winners of Netherlands-based AkzoNobel’s Paint the Future global startup competition.
