Clifford Brown Jazz Festival kicks off on Sunday

Jazz lovers are invited to attend the  free  Clifford Brown Jazz Festival Community Kick-Off Celebration  on Sunday, June 16, at the Clifford Brown Listening Garden, 16th and Clifford Brown Walk.

The event, which begins at 1 p.m. and continues until 7 p.m., will feature FREE music performances, chess matches, games and food. Canned goods will be accepted in exchange for prizes.


Artists scheduled to perform on Sunday include Alfie Moss & Dexter Koonce, The Jackie Brown Nonet, Nadjah Nicole, Aaron Walker, Skip Boardley, and The Fast Lane Big Band among others. The event will take place rain or shine.
 
The Clifford Brown Jazz Festival in Rodney Square – Wilmington’s premier music event and the largest free jazz festival on the East Coast – is celebrating its 31st year. The Festival’s Rodney Square main stage concerts will be held on Wednesday, June 19 through Saturday, June 22, with performances starting at 5:30 p.m. on  weekdays and at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
