DiSabatino named Goldey-Beacom College commencement speaker

The 2019 Commencement speaker at Goldey-Beacom College is Brian DiSabatino, CEO of EDiS Company, who will also receive an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree. DiSabatino has been with EDiS Company for more than  30 years.

[Not a valid template]DiSabatino has been recognized nationally for his work to defeat veteran suicide and lauded for highlighting international human rights infractions.

He has been recognized for his outstanding community service by many nonprofits including the 2009 Recipient of the Bank of America Outstanding Community Builders award, the 2009 Governor’s Outstanding Volunteer Award for Healthcare, the 2009 Catholic Charities Msgr. Thomas J. Reese Award for Outstanding Community Service and the 2014 Delmarva Boy Scouts Citizen of the Year.

DiSabatino is the Chairman of the Grand Opera House in Wilmington, DE. He is the former Chairman of the St. Francis Hospital Foundation.

DiSabatino holds a BS from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA with a major in Management Information Systems and a minor in Economics.

Becker Morgan group leaders Named ENR MidAtlantic Top Young Professionals

Becker Morgan Group announced that J. Michael Riemann, P.E. and Brenden D. Frederick, AIA, LEED AP were named to the Engineering-News Record (ENR) MidAtlantic 2019 Top Young Professionals list. This award recognizes 20 design and construction professionals from across the region under the age of 40 who are leaders in their industry and communities. A panel of industry judges considered criteria including experience, education, career and industry leadership, as well as community service.

Riemann gradualted from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.  He was named a Principal in 2018. Riemann is an active member of the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) of Delaware where he has served a multitude of roles, including serving as President, and is currently the National Director, representing the state of Delaware.

Brenden D. Frederick, AIA, LEED AP, Associate Principal joined the firm after graduating from Tulane University with a Master and Bachelor of Architecture He serves on numerous civic and professional boards, including being an appointed member of the Salisbury Historic District Commission, President of the Rotary Club of Wicomico County and has served in numerous leadership roles for AIA Maryland and AIA Chesapeake Bay Chapter. He is currently serving as the AIA National Strategic Council Representative for the Mid-Atlantic Region.

Mallard Financial Partners announces leadership changes

Mallard Financial Partners of Newark, DE announced leadership changes. Pam Baumbach, CFP, IACCP has been elected President and Chief Operating Officer, Jacqie Thompson, AAMS is the new Vice President, Susan Lehnerd, CFP has become the Treasurer, and Paul Baumbach, CFA, CFP, ChFC takes over as Secretary.

Bryn Mawr Bank Corporation

Bryn Mawr Bank Corporation announced that Jim Donovan has joined the organization as Senior Vice President, Head of Commercial & Industrial Banking.  He will report to the President of BMT Banking, Kevin Tylus, and will be based with the commercial lending group in Wayne, Pa.

Donovan held positions of increasing responsibility throughout his time at CoreStates, Meridian and, most recently, M&T where he spent more than 20 years and oversaw their Pennsylvania Business Banking Division.

He is a graduate of Shippensburg University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and received his MBA from Saint Joseph’s University.  

Chesapeake Utilities Corporation

Chesapeake Utilities Corporation announced the appointment of Michael Galtman to the position of Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer in the Company’s Finance and Accounting department. Galtman will report directly to Beth Cooper, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Chesapeake Utilities Corporation.

Galtman will be responsible for technical accounting, financial reporting, and financial analysis and planning, which includes budgeting, forecasting and the financial component of strategic planning. He will work closely with the executive leadership team on long-term financial planning and execution including mergers and acquisitions and other strategic initiatives.
