Union Park Volvo Cars, Delaware’s only Volvo dealer, announces that it has launched  a $2 million renovation of its facilities.

The Union Park Volvo Cars sales showroom located at Pennsylvania Avenue and DuPont Street and the service facility located at 901 N. Union St. will both receive complete makeovers.

“The Union Park Automotive Group’s ongoing commitment to the City of Wilmington has lasted for more than 60 years,” said Mayor Mike Purzycki. “As Jim and his team continue to grow and expand to meet customer needs, we are honored to support them for being an outstanding business neighbor and a wonderful community partner.” Purzycki was on hand for a ceremony marking construction.

The revamped service facility will include a climate-controlled parking area, a  new reception and waiting area for customers and technology capable of recognizing a customer’s Volvo and retrieving the vehicle’s vital signs even before the customer parks.

The new sales showroom will include a  customer living room, special exterior glass that incorporates Volvo’s signature blue logo color and a natural wood foyer entrance for comfort.

Both Union Park Volvo Cars sales and service facilities will remain open for normal hours and fully operational during construction.

Union Park Volvo Cars will spend approximately $2 million on the project.  Wilmington based construction management firm EDiS Company, will manage the project.
