Saint Francis Healthcare names senior leaders

Saint Francis Healthcare announced the appointment of two senior leaders for the organization.

Brandon S. Harvath joined the organization as Chief Operations Officer. Harvath holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Wilmington University. Prior to joining Saint Francis, he was Vice President, Operations for Wilmington- and Pittsburgh-based Highmark. He has previously served in leadership roles for CIGNA, Independence Blue Cross, and MBNA/Bank of America. Harvath serves on the Board of Directors for Bethany Baptist Christian School in Wilmington.

Ralph Gonzalez Jr., MD, will transition from his role as Interim Chief Medical Officer to full-time Chief Medical Officer for Saint Francis Healthcare. Gonzalez earned his medical degree at Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Christiana Care Medical Center in Newark, Del., and completed a fellowship for Hospitalist Leaders in Healthcare Administration at the University of California-San Francisco. Gonzalez is board certified in Internal Medicine and holds current licensure in the states of Delaware, Maryland, and Pennsylvania.

Duran joins The Bancorp, Inc.

The Bancorp, Inc. announced that Jimmy Duran has joined the Small Business Lending team in the role of Vice President, SBA Business Development Officer. Duran offers expertise in Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) lending. He is based in Philadelphia and will provide Small Business Administration (SBA) lending expertise and services to business owners regionally and nationally across a wide range of industries.

Duran brings more than 20 years of experience supporting entrepreneurs and small business owners. Most recently, he served as the Director of Programs and Small Business Development for the Greater Philadelphia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Among his responsibilities, he formulated recommendations and solutions for aspiring entrepreneurs, current businesses and CEOs ready to scale and aligned with their capabilities.

The Bancorp is based in north Wilmington.

Ellingsworth joins Tipton Health Communications

Tipton Health Communications, Newark, welcomed Phil Ellingsworth Jr. as the company’s Strategic Communications Manager.

In his new role at Tipton, he will oversee the development and implementation of robust communication strategies, plans and campaigns, primarily for Tipton’s healthcare and human resources/employee benefits clients.

Prior to joining Tipton Communications, Ellingsworth served as Communications Director for Hahnemann University Hospital where he oversaw internal and external communication strategies for the academic medical center. During his time at Hahnemann, he served as the communications adviser to the organization’s C-suite and managed a number of high-level public relations projects for the hospital.

SoDel names executive chef

Nina Maddox is the new executive chef at Crust & Craft, the Midway restaurant in Rehoboth Beach that specializes in wood-fired pizza, pasta and craft beer. SoDel Concepts purchased Crust & Craft in February 2019.

City of Newark names deputy director

The City of Newark announced Acting Deputy Director of Public Works and Water Resources Ethan Robinson, has officially been promoted to Deputy Director after serving nearly 22 months in the acting role during the City Manager search. Robinson began his career with the Department as the Planning and Design Engineer in 2016.

Before joining the City of Newark, Robinson served as a staff engineer with Pennoni Associates in Newark, where he was responsible for design and construction management of numerous infrastructure improvement projects for the city and several other municipalities.

He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology from the University of Delaware and has over 14 years of experience in civil engineering and design and construction management with a strong background in land development, water and wastewater design, and stormwater management design.
