DuPont board members named

DowDuPont announced three additional members to the future board of directors of DuPont, currently the Specialty Products Division of DowDuPont. The new directors include Frank K. Clyburn, chief commercial officer at Merck & Co., Inc., Terrence R. Curtin, CEO of TE Connectivity, and Frederick M. Lowery, senior vice president and president, Life Sciences Solutions and Laboratory Products at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. With these additions, DuPont expects to have 12 members on its board, effective June 1, 2019.

Melanie George Smith, former Delaware State Representative has been elected chair of the board of directors for The World Trade Center Delaware (WTC Delaware).

  Smith recently earned a Certificate from Harvard University’s Executive Education Sustainability Leadership program. She is also a trained GRI (Global Reporting Initiative -the largest sustainability standard-setting organization in the world) reporter.

In addition to practicing law and coordinating the pro bono program at Richards Layton & Finger for nearly 20 years, Smith co-founded and for six years co-chaired the Delaware Kids Caucus, a group of legislators who advocate for children’s issues.

 Becker Morgan Group Announces 2019 Promotions

Becker Morgan Group announced the following employee promotions:

Bryan L. Hutchison, Jr. has been promoted to Senior Associate. With a Bachelor of Architecture from Virginia Polytechnic State University, he is a registered architect in the state of Delaware, a member of the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) and serves on the Delaware Board of Architects. Hutchison has been with the firm for 15 years and leads the architectural staff in the Dover  office.

Craig Williams has been with the firm for 16 years and has been named Senior Associate. He graduated from the University of Maryland College Park with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture and is a registered architect in Maryland. He has received international awards from the American Society of Architectural Illustrators & KROB for 3D Visualization.

Michael J. Henry  has been promoted to Senior Associate. He has been with the firm for 22 years in the civil engineering department in the Dover office. Henry is a graduate of Delaware Technical Community College, was formerly an ambassador for the Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce and was a member of the Leadership Central Delaware Class of 2018.

Rushdan named  program associate at   Delaware Community Foundation

The Delaware Community Foundation welcomed Yolanda Rushdan as program associate.

Rushdan most recently served as the director of development at Exceptional Care for Children, Delaware’s first and only pediatric nursing home.

Previously, Rushdan worked in development at the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition and at the Delaware Children’s Museum (DCM), where she was a founding staff member. During her time at the DCM, Rushdan served as associate director of development, director of operations and director of development.

Ian Snitch joins Courtyard by Marriott UD

Ian Snitch has joined  the Courtyard by Marriott – Newark at the University of Delaware team.

 Ian first became familiar with the hotel during the University of Delaware – Disability Mentoring Day in 2017. At that time,  he learned about the hotel front desk service. Ian was part of the Career & Life Studies Certificate (CLSC) program of the UD Center for Disability Studies and received an internship at the hotel in 2018-2019.

Connelly joins Montessori School board

Western Sussex County business leader and marketing specialist Lauren Connelly has joined the Board of Directors of the new Sussex Montessori School.

  A graduate of Savannah College of Art and Design, Connelly has a B.F.A. She is a Fellow of Leadership Delaware and, prior to joining the Sussex Montessori School board.

 M&T Bank names president of Capital Corp.

M&T Bank has named Michael D. Berman as  President and CEO of M&T Realty Capital Corporation, the company’s wholly-owned nationwide commercial mortgage banking subsidiary.

Berman holds a B.A. in Government from Harvard University, and a J.D. from University of Pennsylvania’s Law School.
