McAndrew joins DLA Piper’s tech practice

DLA Piper announced  that Edward J. McAndrew has joined the firm’s Intellectual Property and Technology practice as a partner based in Wilmington and Washington, DC.

[Not a valid template]McAndrew is a counselor and trial lawyer who focuses his practice on cybersecurity matters, helping clients manage cyber risk, comply with legal requirements and industry standards, prepare for and respond to cyber incidents, and handle related investigations and litigation. Substantive areas of his practice include computer and financial fraud, digital privacy, intellectual property protection, social media, online speech, cyber-based national security issues and governmental demands for data.

McAndrew joins DLA Piper from Ballard Spahr LLP, where he served as co-chair of the firm’s Privacy and Data Security group and leader of its national Cyber Incident Response Team. He previously served for nearly a decade as a federal cybercrime prosecutor and National Security Cyber Specialist at the US Department of Justice in Washington, DC, and in the US Attorney’s Offices for the Eastern District of Virginia and the District of Delaware. He received his J.D. from Catholic University and his bachelors from The College of New Jersey.

Richards, Layton & Finger President elected  fellow in College of Trial Lawyers

Greg Varallo, president of Richards, Layton & Finger,  Wilmington, has been elected as a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers.  The American College of Trial Lawyers the preeminent organization of trial lawyers in North America. 

Fellowship in the college is by invitation only, offered to exceptional lawyers who have demonstrated the very highest standards of trial advocacy, ethical conduct, integrity, professionalism, and collegiality.

Greg focuses his practice on corporate and business litigation, as well as arbitration, corporate governance, and corporate transactions. 

He is the author or co-author of numerous articles and treatises and has taught classes at NYU School of Law, the University of Pennsylvania Law School, and Harvard Law School. 

Varallo is a founding trustee, vice president, and secretary of the American College of Governance Counsel, and serves on the Delaware Supreme Court Rules Committee. 

Morris James adds attorneys

The Delaware law firm Morris James  announced that the following attorneys joined the firm:

Kirsten A. Zeberkiewicz focuses her practice on litigation involving corporations and alternative entities formed under Delaware law. She handles corporate governance and complex commercial litigation matters involving fiduciary duty claims, contract disputes, M&A challenges, and summary proceedings in the Delaware Court of Chancery and the Delaware Supreme Court.

 Prior to joining Morris James, Kirsten gained trial and litigation experience at a New York AmLaw100 firm. Kirsten earned her J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, cum laude, in 2002.

Erin Larson focuses her practice on patent litigation and counseling clients in all aspects of practice in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware. 

Erin is a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Reserve, where she coordinates personnel services. Erin earned her J.D. from the University of North Carolina School of Law where she served as Editor-in-Chief of the North Carolina Journal of Law & Technology.  She holds a B.S. in Chemistry from Villanova University.  

Wilson of Morris James named to board  

Andrew B. Wilson of  Morris James  LLP has been elected to The Delaware Center of Health Innovation Board of Directors. 

DCHI is a public-private partnership comprised of healthcare leaders, dedicated to achieving Delaware’s vision for becoming one of the healthiest states in the nation.

Originally tasked with overseeing the state’s sizeable State Innovation Model federal grant the center is now entering their new phase of commitment to engaging with an extensive network of partners to foster systemic change across the healthcare landscape in Delaware.

Connolly Gallagher moves to new quarters

Connolly Gallagher moved its   Wilmington office to 1201 North Market St.,20th Floor in downtown Wilmington. The firm’s Newark office is still at 267 East Main St.
