Landscape-fencing contractor faces charges of home improvement fraud

A landscape-fencing contractor has been charged with home improvement fraud.

New Castle County Division of Police officers were dispatched to the 900 block  of Clydesdale Drive in the community of Rolling Meadows.

They learned that the victim had paid 45-year-old Jeffrey Darrah of Darrah Landscape Contractors, LLC to put up a fence.   The work was never started, and the money was never returned.

After an investigation,  Darrah was charged with one count of felony Home Improvement Fraud Greater than $1,500 with the victim over the age of 62.

This week, Darrah turned himself in at the New Castle County Public Safety Building. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and released on $3,000 unsecured bail.

A firm with a similar name  in Kirkwood received  Better Business Bureau  reviews  with similar issues
