Frontier joins Spirit Airlines as an ultra-low-fare carrier at the  Maryland airport. Both carriers charge low base fares and add fees for carry-ons, checked luggage and seat assignments. Frontier recently launched kids fly free promotions.

Frontier briefly served New Castle Airport, before shifting operations to Philadelphia International Airport. It now offers flights from Philadelphia to two dozen cities that typically operate a few times a week. Orlando and Denver are exceptions.
