Beebe Healthcare announces new board members

Beebe Healthcare  announced the appointment of three new members to its board of directors: Christian Hudson, Andrew Dahlke, MD, and Mouhanad Freih, MD.

 Beebe also recognized outgoing board members Tommy Cooper, James Marvel, MD, and Paul Mylander. Mylander has been elected board member emeritus in recognition of his 15 years of service on the board. He is only the fourth board member in Beebe’s history to be recognized with board member emeritus status.

Hudson joined the board of the Beebe Medical Foundation in November 2015 and was named chairman in November 2018. He is co-owner of Hudson Management, a   family-owned investment company, with his brother Jamin Hudson. 

Dahlke, a board-certified radiologist with additional certifications in neuroradiology, has been practicing with Southern Delaware Imaging Associates and Beebe Healthcare for over 20 years. He served as president of the Eastern Sussex Physician Organization from 2012-2018 and was named the president of the Medical Society of Delaware in 2019, having previously served as vice president.

Freih, an interventional cardiologist, has been practicing at Clinic by the Sea and Beebe Healthcare since 2008. He is the medical director of the cath lab at Beebe and was previously the chairman of the cardiology department. In addition, he is a member of the medical executive committee and served on the Beebe Medical Foundation board of directors from 2015 to 2017.

 Karas new Police Policy, Communications chief

David Karas is the Wilmington Police Department ’s new Police Policy and Communications Director.

This is a civilian position within the WPD, created recently by reclassifying a vacant civilian departmental position.

 Chief  Robert Tracy said Karas will also work on various policy and strategy projects for the department.

Tracy said the WPD is committed to providing timely information to the media and to the public as it becomes available. The Chief said in addition to sharing the daily news from the Department, he is also eager for the public to know about the community and charitable work of his officers aside from their daily policing duties.

 Karas earned his bachelor’s degree from The College of New Jersey, with dual majors in Criminology and Journalism. He also spent some time working with the accreditation unit of the New Jersey State Police.

David was full-time as a reporter and photographer for several news outlets, including The Times of Trenton where he covered crime, breaking news and local government.

He subsequently attended the University of Delaware, earning a master’s degree and a doctorate in the field of Urban Affairs and Public Policy. David began his career with the  City of Wilmington in September 2013, serving as an Urban Policy Fellow for the Wilmington City Council until December 2016. In January 2017,

David was appointed Legislative and Policy Director for City Council, and was promoted the following year to the role of Deputy Chief of Staff and Chief Strategist for the city’s legislative body.

McNeil named corporate communications manager

Telgian Holdings, Inc. recently announced the appointment of Susan McNeill as Corporate Communications Manager. In this position, McNeill will be responsible for the development and management of Telgian’s corporate communications programs, public relations, content marketing, and social media promotions worldwide.

McNeill brings more than 30 years of experience in the development of corporate communications strategy and planning, as well as branding, copywriting, advertising, public relations, content marketing, and social media.

Prior to joining Telgian, McNeill acted as the Marketing, Communications and Public Relations Coordinator of Back to Basics Learning Dynamics for over 20 years.

McNeill is a graduate of the University of Delaware with a Bachelor’s Degree in English and a Minor in Journalism.

TD realigns consumer lending operations

TD Bank  announced organizational changes to its U.S. Consumer Product team as it unites Wilmington-based U.S. Bankcard, Retail Card Services, U.S. Partnerships and personal lending into one portfolio under Matt Boss, now Head of U.S. Credit Cards and Unsecured Lending.

“As we continued to build and customize our card and personal lending offerings to best fit the needs of our customers and our partners’ customers, it became evident that uniting these portfolios and leaders into one organization would best position us for future growth,” said  Boss.

With this new alignment, Mike Kinane, who previously headed up TD’s home equity lending business as Senior Vice President, Head of Home Equity and Personal Lending, has been appointed to Head of U.S. Bankcard. Kinane will oversee the bank’s TD-branded credit card portfolio, a business that started at TD Bank under his leadership in 2012. Kinane has  held a variety of leadership roles across consumer lending business during his tenure at TD.  

Additional personnel changes include:

  • Mike Rittler, previously General Manager of Strategic Partnerships, has been appointed to General Manager Retail Card Services, Personal Lending, and Business Development. 
  • David Swift, previously Head of Vendor & Program Management, has been appointed to Head of Partnership Programs 
  • Kurt Lessig, Head of Cards, Personal Lending, and Merchant Solutions Credit Management, has joined the U.S. Credit Cards and Personal Lending leadership team.

Bancorp names SBA VP

The Bancorp, Inc., north Wilmington announced that Ashley Olejnik has joined the Small Business Lending team in the role of Vice President, SBA Business Development Officer.

She supports small business owners regionally and nationally across a range of industries by providing Small Business Administration (SBA) lending expertise and services. She is based in Nashville.

Olejnik most recently was Vice President, SBA Business Development Officer at Suntrust Bank.
