Joshua and Cynthia Martin were presented the Josiah Marvel Cup from the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce. The annual award was presented at the organization’s annual meeting on Monday night.
Joshua Martin is a former Delaware Superior Court judge and president of Verizon and its predecessor Bell Atlantic in Delaware. He currently serves as a senior partner at the law firm of Potter Anderson & Corroon, Wilmington.
Cynthia Martin is a retired nonprofit executive specializing in agency management, fund development, and marketing. She is the founder of Trustees of Color, a nonprofit focused on board diversity
Both Cynthia and Joshua Martin have been active in community and education activities in the state.
Established in 1951, the Marvel Cup honors a Delawarean who has made an outstanding contribution to the state and community. The award is named in memory of Josiah Marvel, who reorganized, and served as the first president of, the State Chamber in 1913.
The award is kept secret until the time of the presentation.
