Food ordering site GrubHub has expanded its delivery territory to include the Wilmington area.
The company says the service is a good fit for restaurants that don’t offer delivery services and can use Grubhub’s drivers to help their business.
“GrubHub has been active in Wilmington since 2011. Back then, diners placed their order through GrubHub with our restaurant partners for pickup or delivery and the restaurant fulfilled the request with their own staff. With the launch of GrubHub delivery, GrubHub now has its own fleet of drivers on the road to improve the delivery experience for restaurants and diners in Wilmington,” said spokesman Demarquis McIntyre.
GrubHub also released a list of the most popular food orders in the Wilmington area, based on information from the company.

- Carrot Cake from Pat’s Pizza
- Shrimp Tempura Roll from Atami Chinese and Sushi Express
GrubHub services 1,700 cities across the U.S. and has more than 95,000 restaurants available on its platform. GrubHub plans to double its delivery market footprint in 2018.
In kicking off the service, the company is offering free delivery of orders until Jan. 18 for people using the promo code of FREEDEL at its website.
