Tidewater Utilities has new top executive

New Jersey-based Middlesex Water Company announced that its Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer,  A. Bruce O’Connor,  has been named President of its wholly-owned Delaware based subsidiary, Tidewater Utilities, Inc.

[Not a valid template]O’Connor succeeds Gerard L. Esposito, who retired effective January 1.

 He holds an M.B.A. in Finance from Rutgers University and a B.S. in Accounting from Monmouth University.

Incyte names CFO

Incyte announced the appointment of  Christiana Stamoulis  as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, effective February 11. Stamoulis will succeed David Gryska who  retired from Incyte at the end of 2018.

Stamoulis has over 20 years of experience in the biotechnology industry. She joins Incyte from Unum Therapeutics, where she was President and Chief Financial Officer. Prior to Unum, she was the Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Business Development at Vertex Pharmaceuticals. Prior to joining Vertex, she spent nearly 15 years in the investment banking and management consulting industries. She was a Managing Director at Citigroup’s Investment Banking division and prior to that, she was a senior investment banker in the Healthcare Investment Banking Group at Goldman Sachs, where she spent the majority of her investment banking career

 Stamoulis serves on the Board of Directors of Hologic Inc., a medical technology company. She holds two Bachelor of Science degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management.

Cover & Rossiter  adds Principal

Cover & Rossiter announced the addition of Myunghee Geerts, CPA as a Principal in the Tax Department.

Geerts has 13 years of experience in public accounting. Prior to joining the firm, she was Senior Manager at Ernst & Young’s Quantitative Services where she specialized in advising her clients with tax planning ideas to reduce their tax liabilities and mitigate risks associated with tax returns.

  Geerts has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting from Michigan State University and a Masters of Business Administration degree from the University of Delaware. She is a Certified Public Accountant in Delaware and Pennsylvania and frequently speaks on tax planning and tax reform at workshops. 

WSFS Financial Corporation CEO, Chairman complete transition.

Rodger Levenson is the new President and Chief Executive Officer of WSFS Financial Corporation, Wilmington, the parent company of WSFS Bank, and a member of its board.

His new roles became effective January 1, 2019.   Levenson is a long-time banker in the Greater Delaware Valley and has been a member of WSFS’ executive leadership team since 2006, most recently serving as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. 

Former CEO  Mark A. Turner is now   Executive Chairman of the Board.  Turner stepped aside from the roles of President and CEO on December 31, 2018, after a dozen years as WSFS’ Chief Executive. 

Chesapeake Utilities Corporation

Chesapeake Utilities Corporation, Dover, announced two executive appointments. Shane E. Breakie has been promoted to Assistant Vice President of Chesapeake Utilities. Breakie will assume expanded responsibilities regarding the day-to-day activities of the Company’s natural gas distribution systems on the Delmarva Peninsula. Andrew R. Hesson has been promoted to Vice President of Sharp Energy, Inc., the Company’s mid-Atlantic propane distribution business unit. Bob Zola, President of Sharp Energy, will retire this month.

Breakie has 25 years of experience with the company. He earned Bachelor of Science degrees in Accounting and Finance from the University of Delaware and an MBA from Wilmington University.

Hesson has 12 years of experience in the propane gas industry. He has a Bachelor of Science from California State University- Chico.

University of Delaware names associate vice president

Richard Reeves, chief of the Postsecondary Branch of the U.S. Department of Education’s National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), in Washington, D.C., has been named an associate vice president for institutional research and effectiveness at the University of Delaware.

In his new role, Reeves will report to Remmler and will work with other members of the senior leadership team to develop and assess objectives and metrics for the University’s academic, financial and operating strategies to accomplish the objectives of the campus strategic plan. He will lead UD’s Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness, which includes the Data Warehouse/Business Intelligence and the National Study of Instructional Costs and Productivity (the Delaware Cost Study).

Reeves replaces John Sawyer, who has returned to the faculty as professor of management in the Lerner College of Business and Economics.

Pennoni adds Newark office leader

Daniel Barbato will lead the  Newark office for the Philadelphia-based engineering company.

He previously served as the firm’s Regional Practice Leader, Division Manager, and Senior Engineering in the municipal engineering division. His primary area of expertise is in water and wastewater engineering.

He is a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Delaware, Pennsylvania, Florida, and Maryland.

Peninsula Home Care adds three

Peninsula Home Care announced the addition of three new staff members, one in Maryland and two in Delaware, to the Peninsula Home Care team.

Denise Fields joined Peninsula Home Care in 2018 with a diverse healthcare background.

She graduated from Palm Beach Atlantic College in West Palm Beach, Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1983.

Tisha Donovan started working for Peninsula Home Care at Nanticoke in October, 2018 after working as a nurse for 11 years.  She has 23 years of experience in the medical field with roles as a medical assistant, medical office manager, and sales.  

She graduated from Delaware Technical Community College with degrees for medical assistance and licensed practical nursing. 

Jenna Hare joined the Peninsula Home Care at Nanticoke team in August  as a community account manager. 

She graduated from the Certified Medical Assistant program at Harris School of Business in Dover Delaware.  She received her certified personal training credentials from American Fitness Professionals & Associates.  She has enrolled to study business management at Wilmington University in 2019.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware honors Hertrich

Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware announced  their honoree for the 2019 Great Futures Award, Fred Hertrich IV of the Delaware-based Hertrich Family of Automobile Dealerships. 

The Great Futures Award, presented annually to an individual or organization that has made an outstanding contribution to the community, exemplifying the highest ideals of organizational stewardship. The recipient consistently meets the needs of his/her community, enhances the quality of life for Delawareans and inspires others toward community service and responsiveness.

The Hertrichs were instrumental in building both the Western Sussex and Milford Clubs; contributing to general operating funds, funding sports leagues, donating towards scholarships, and supporting special events like the Masquerade Ball. 

Chamber board members announced

New  members of the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and Board of Governors were announced.

The State Chamber welcomed to the following people  to the Board of Directors.
