Two  New Castle men were charged with multiple offenses after they were found at the scene of a burglary that used a sledgehammer.

At approximately 11:45 p.m., Tuesday, troopers were called to Aaron’s Furniture at 511 E. Basin Rd., New Castle after an alarm was activated.

Troopers found  William Ramos, 55, at the rear of the business, standing next to hole that had been made with a sledgehammer.

Ramos was immediately taken into custody without incident. Troopers were also able to determine that there was a second subject,  later identified as 53-year-old David Ramos, inside the business.

A Delaware State Police K-9   searched  the interior and indicated to his handler that the suspect was hiding in the drop ceiling.

David Ramos surrendered and was taken into custody.

Both are held on multiple charges after failing to pay $11,500 bond each.
