Saxbys  will close its coffee shop at 57 Main St. in Newark on Sunday after a nine-year run.

The small chain did not cite a reason for the closing of the store near the University of Delaware campus other than to note that the lease was expiring on the property.

“We’ve been lucky enough to service the community for nearly a decade and in that time, you have given our team incredible experiences, unforgettable moments, and thoughtful feedback. Saxbys core mission is to Make Life Better for its guests and the communities it serves, but truly all of you have helped to make us better in the process,” a release stated.

Saxbys has about two dozen locations in the Delaware Valley and has its headquarters in Philadelphia.
