First State Brew Tours has opened as the number of breweries, cideries and meaderies grows in the state.
The venture is based at same address as Liquid Alchemy Beverages with owners of the business also involved with First State Brew Tours.
Liquid Alchemy is based west of Wilmington and offers cider and honey-based mead.
Tours include three New Castle County craft breweries, with tastings at each. Tours are held on Saturdays, ending at mid-month and resuming in January.
Co-owner Terri Sorantino,reported tours have been 80 percent full in the early going, despite the busy holiday season.
The brew tours are an outgrowth of a craft beer business that now totals upwards of a dozen breweries and a distillery in New Castle County and northern Kent County.
Tours include tastings and tours of brewing operations at three breweries for about $60 a ticket. The tours start and end at a brewery. Discounts for using Uber and Lyft ride-sharing services are offered.
