A Dover Downs online player got a Christmas present on Christmas day when hitting a nearly $214,000 jackpot through the state’s iGames feature.
While at home on his phone, the player tried his luck on Santa’s Super Slot, a Christmas themed slot game. He wagered $7.50, clicked the spin button and won the progressive jackpot.
The jackpot is awarded randomly – no matching symbols are required. The size of the bet and number of the pay lines determines the chances of winning the jackpot. The online player has been an active player since the initial launch of Delaware’s online casino sites in 2013.
The video lottery game, “Santa’s Super Slot” was added to new online casino platforms in May. of this year.
The newest jackpot game is Ultimate Universe, which posted a jackpot in November of $3,615.73.
Delaware’s online game offerings have maintained a low profile, due in part to the small size of the state. New Jersey casino operators have heavily advertised their offerings.
In October, 2013, Delaware was the first to launch casino style online gaming with cash prizes. Three sites are available for players – one for each casino (Delaware Park, Dover Downs, and Harrington Raceway). Playing has to take place in the state where the casino is located.
All three iGaming sites provide a wide variety of video lottery games, peer-to-peer poker, and table games, including several different versions of roulette and blackjack. Delaware is also part of a multistate poker platform that includes Nevada and New Jersey players from Caesar Interactive Entertainment’s WSOP.com site.
